Toddlers say and do the cutest things!
So last night, in an attempt to get Devin to go to bed at a decent hour. Which is hard to do sometimes. I asked him if he wanted to lay down with me and make sure that I go to sleep. So, of course, he said yeah, and got his pillow and blankets, crawled up on the bed by me, and got comfortable. As we were laying there, he points to one eye, and says close eye mommy, then points to the other one and says the same thing. Then precedes to tell me to go to seep(sleep) mommy. I thought that was just too cute and funny. He says the funniest things, and is such fun to have in our home.

Dodger Game got sold out!
So on our fourth day we were going to take the kids to a Dodger Game. But they were sold out. The kids were real disappointed. We will know next time to get the tickets in advance. So instead of going to the game, we took the kids to a place in Ventura, called Golf 'n' Stuff. This is just a minature golf place. It also has your arcade games, race tracks to race little cars on, and bumper boats. The kids had alot of fun playing golf. Taylor and Heather, my niece, did the race cars. Christopher and Anna did the bumper boats.

Solvang.....!
This has go to be one of my favorite places to go to in California. It has change a lot in the last 10 years. It seems like it has gotten bigger. We walked around the town. I bought my normal purchase, fudge. Can't leave without having their fudge. We also had some pull apart cinnamon bread.
While we were there they had some cyclist that were riding their bikes from San Francisco to LA. They were quite interesting to see. After we were done touring the stores in Solvang, we found this nice little park that had barbecues set up. That is were we ate dinner and let the kids play.

Ventura Beach....
On our second day of adventure we took the kids to the Ventura Beach. It was a cloudy day, but the kids really enjoyed playing at the beach. We weren't sure if the kids would want to swim in the ocean, cause it was cold. The only one that didn't that day was Taylor, she didn't think we were going to swim....cause of weather, so she didn't wear her suit. But they had a lot of fun. We decided that the next time we come we just spend the whole time at the beach. They had more fun there and it is cheaper to go to.

The first adventure in California......
The first adventure in California. The fist day we took a trip down highway 1. This is the coast highway in California. It takes you thru Malibu, which Taylor thought was kind of cool to go thru. We stopped at the beach to show the kids the seals and dolphins that were out in the ocean. There was a few of them. Not many. This started my picture taking...And let me tell you, I took some pictures. Way too many to put all of them on the blog. But it was fun just to take pictures. Here are the ocean scenes in Malibu.
California Coast in Malibu.....
I took this pictures to show just how big this bone was compared to Devin. This is a part of a leg bone to a Dinosaur. Big bone. At least I thought it was. Yes we don have Devin on a leash. He is a very fast two year old, and can play houdini very well. He will disappear in a flash.
This is a footprint. I definately would not want to get squished by this dinosaur.
Then we were off to the La Brea Tarpits. That was a lot of fun to go to. We met up with my sister and her daughter. They crashed our vacation. It was a lot of fun to have them along on our adventures thru the week. La Brea Tarpits are alot of fun to go and see. This is were they are digging up Dinosaur bones from the tarpits. We had fun walking thru the museum and looking at the different dinosaurs that they have found so far. We also got to see where they clean the bones off...And one of the tarpits that they are working on right now.
Taylor, Christopher, and Anna trying to pull the rods out of tar. This is to show why the dinosaurs could not free themselves from the tar. It was real hard to pull the handles up in the tar.
This is one of the tarpits that they are working in right now. How would you like this for a job.

Whirl Wind Time!!
Alot has happened since the last time I wrote. So I thought that I would update you. On May 28th Taylor tried out for the Air Bound Angels. This is a cheerleader competition team in Logan. She made the team. So now we have three days a week that she has to be at the gym in Logan for practices. Then on the 31st, we left for California. We have been running ever since. We made it to California on the 1st. The next day we went to the Le Brea Tarpits. That was alot of fun. Then on Wednesday we went to the Beach. That was fun to watch the kids go into the water and play. Then an Thursday, we went to a town called Solvang. For those of you that don't know what this town is, it is a small little Danish town up in the mountains in southern California. We got to see a bunch of interesting things. Especially people. Then on Friday we were suppose to go to a Dodger Game, but it was sold out. So we ended up going to Golf n Stuff in Ventura. This was an old hang out for me when I was in my teenage years. On Friday, the older kids and Gerlad went to the Santa Barabara Zoo. Then on Monday we are going to Disneyland. Then we will play around for a day or so at the beach again. I will post picture next week of our adventures and the interesting people we saw. This was just an update of what has been going on.
