Spring Break......!

Just to catch everyone up. Not a whole lot going on. Kids are off for Spring Break. Taylor didn't make it for Cheerleading this year, but the coach would really like her to try out next year. The coach said that she would have been on the team if the school would have let her put extra girls on. Let see, what else, Taylor has also started a new job. She is now working at BigJ's. For those of you that haven't been to Preston. It is a fast food place. It will be different for her. I am so proud of Taylor she works hard. And is learning to take things in stride. Her comment for not making the team this year was "There is always next year!" What a great attitude she has. So she has decided also to take so gymnastics and cheerleading classes this next year to gain more experience and help in that area. As for the rest of us, we are working. I pretty much work this whole week. And I am trying to get my house cleaned. But I feel that I am just not getting anywhere. I have also been down to Primary Children's this last week end to help out a friend. She has her 7month old in the hospital there. Hopefully will be able to come home soon. That is our exciting week. Not a whole lot happening.

Hospital Trip....

Well four thirty yesterday morning I got up with a real bad pain on my left side. I let it go until 5. I thought that maybe if I got up and took a shower,got ready for work I would feel better. Not exactly. The pain was just worse. I finally told Gerald that he needed to take me in. Yes he was actually home for this. Anyway we sat at the hospital here in Preston until about 10am. To find out that I had a kidney stone 6x5mm big. That is a huge kidney stone. The doc said that is why I was in so much pain. Anyway, they ended up shipping me to Logan, UT to the Cache Valley Specialty hospital. This is where I suppose to see another Doctor to have the kidney stone taken care. He didn't come into my room until around six thirty. Talk about along time of sitting and waiting, without food or water. He gave me a choice of either having surgery now or wait until morning. Well of course I took right now. I didn't suffer without food and water all day not to have the surgery. Plus I had been in so much pain, I wanted to get it taken care. It took about 5 shots of morphine, a shot of Demerol, and a shot of Tordol before they got me out pain. Anyway, they took me in for surgery. The doctor did the surgery. The funny thing about all this is that when he did surgery the kidney stone was no where to be found. Talk about messed up. As far as I know I never passed it. So where did the kidney stone go. We would all like to know. I know that I had it. They did a cat scan in Preston. And did x-rays in Logan. After that who knows were pesky thing went. That was my exciting day yesterday. What a way to get out of work. Not on purpose.

Cheerleading Tryouts!!!

So it starts. Taylor is going thru the cheerleading tryouts this next week. I am amazed at what these girls have to do to tryout. First of all, she has to do a portfolio. Now this portfolio will have a get to know you form, permission slip,detailed outline of pep rally assembly. That she came up with of course. And a spirit poster covering one of the events at school. Then she has to make a big poster about herself to hang in the school next week. This is so that the students can see who is running and who they want to vote for. Then Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, is cheerleading clinic. They will learn a group dance and cheer for those three days. And this will last for 2 hrs each day. Then on Thursday they have the actual tryouts. Now this goes from 3:30 until 9pm. This is where they will do the group dance and cheer. Plus the cheer that they choreographed and their interview with three judges. Now the judges are not from our school. They are from colleges. Now you would think that this is where they would find out if they made it. NO! Friday night they go to a Inaguration Ball. This is where they will find out if they made it or not. This is also where they find out the executive counsel. Talk about a process. So keep this in mind this week and wish Taylor all the luck in the tryouts. She is such a hard worker. I am proud of her for putting herself into things that she wants. And to put herself into it 110%. Taylor GOOD LUCK!

Happier World......

My brother sent this to me on my email. I thought that this was a very good article by President Hinkley. I find so many people in my daily life that always have a negative, faultfinding thing to say about people. It reminds me of the movie "Pay It Forward" or even the insurance comercial where you see someone do a good thing and the next person does it. Just think what this world would be like if we all could talk nice about one another, and to always think positive about the world. Just think how beautiful our world would be with sunlight in our lives all the time. Criticism, faultfinding, evil speaking—these are of the spirit of the day. To hear tell, there is nowhere a man of integrity holding public office. All businessmen are crooks. The utilities are out to rob you. Even on campus there is heard so much the snide remark, the sarcastic jibe, the cutting down of associates—these, too often, are the essence of our conversation. In our homes, wives weep and children finally give up under the barrage of criticism leveled by abusive husbands and fathers. Criticism is the forerunner of divorce, the cultivator of rebellion, sometimes the catalyst that leads to failure. In the Church, it sows the seed of inactivity and finally apostasy. I come to you tonight with a plea that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life we try to "accentuate the positive." I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment virtue and effort. Now I am not asking that all criticism be silenced. Growth comes of correction. Strength comes of repentance. Wise is the man or woman who can acknowledge mistakes pointed out by others and change his or her course. What I am suggesting is that you turn from the negativism that so permeates our modern society and look for the remarkable good among those with whom you associate, that we speak of one another’s virtues more than we speak of one another’s faults, that optimism replace pessimism, that our faith exceed our fears. Confessions of a Shopaholic!!!

This was a very cute movie. Taylor and I went to see the midnight showing of this movie on Saturday night. It was a very funny movie, about a real life problem with women and young girls. We really enjoyed the movie. I would recommend it to all Mothers and their teenage daughters. Really shows, in a dramatized way, what really happens when you shop to much and can't pay the bills. Loved the movie.

Driver Licenses............

Well we are now a three driver family. Taylor is now a license driver. Wow. Another milestone in our family. Amazing how fast our little girl is growing up. It is just the first step to her leaving the nest. Time is flying by so fast. Almost too fast. Congratulations on this milestone in your life Taylor.

WII Fit.....

For Christmas my husband had gotten me the WII Fit board. We have really enjoyed playing it. My kids were playing it tonight, when my two year old wanted to play also. So we made a MII for him, and away he went. It was so cute to watch, that I thought that I would put it on my blog. He is doing the running.Hopefully you get the picture on how it works. It was just to cute to not video it. He had so much fun doing it.
