Thanksgiving is over!!!!!

One holiday over....Now on to the big holiday...Thanksgiving was a nice day. We spent it at my brother Cary's home in Utah. All my brothers and their spouses were able to make it, plus us, and Grandpa. My sister was not able to come, because of were she lives. So we missed her. We had the traditional Thanksgiving meal,and of course we ate to much...What else is new...We played games, watched movies,and talked. It was a nice day to spend with family. Now we get to decorate for the holidays and my favorite, is listening to Christmas music.

Another Christmas Memory.....

Okay, I thought I had a picture of this memory on my computer, but I can't find it. Anyway, Kerri, my friend, reminded me of one christmas a few years back. We were going to spend christmas with my dad that year, I think it was in 2003. I happening to be talking to Kerri on the phone, telling her that I didn't want to spend the money on a tree that year cause we weren't going to be home. And the tradition in our house is to have a real tree.So we put are heads together to figure out what to do, so that it would feel like christmas for my kids. Kerri and her bright ideas mentioned that she had a roll of butcher paper and that we could just draw a tree and tape it to the wall. So guess what we did. We had a taped christmas tree on the wall that year. My kids thought that it was pretty cool. We even put christmas presents under that tree. I did have a lot of people from the ward ask if we need help getting a christmas tree.

Twilight Movie....

Well talk about an experience...Let me tell ya, we got to the theatre at 9pm. Now remeber we were going to the midnight showing. The girls stood in line to wait for good seats. I sat out in the car with Devin and Christopher, cause they were going with my friend Jeannie to her house. She was at the 9:15 show. Smart women. Then we finally go into the movie at about 11:30pm, and actually got good seats. It was a good movie. I don't know if it was worth lack of sleep, but it was a very good movie. I would go see it again. It was fun to take Taylor and Deanza to a midnight showing. We didn't get home until about 3am. It was worth it to spend time with my teenage. I don't get that very often.

Getting in the mood for Christmas......

Had to change...need to get in the mood for christmas. I know that it is early, but I was getting to where I needed the change on my blog. So I think that people should start sharing some memories of christmas tradition in their families. We had a couple. One that I think that everyone has, is opening their pj's on Christmas Eve. Another one of ours is to go up to the mountains the day after Thanksgiving and get a tree. We didn't do this last year and probably won't this year because a little one year, that we won't name. He likes to get into things a little to much right now. Another, that my family use to do is to have pineapple boats. My dad use to get fresh pineapple and we would cut them in half and put different kinds of ice cream and toppings, and eat it. That was always fun. So I have done mine, or at least some of mine. I encourage the rest of you to get on your blogs and remember Christmas past, and share those memories of christmas. Help us all to start getting in the Christmas spirit of giving and traditions. Sixteen Years !!!!

Wow!!! Sixteen years!!! Who would have thought that I would be married for sixteen years, with four kids, one of them a teenager. Well, Gerald and I have been married for,you got it, sixteen years. That is a long time. It has been an amazing sixteen years. Gerald is a good husband and father. Couldn't ask for anyone better. He works hard, and loves to have fun. It has been a great sixteen years. We have had ups and downs, but who hasn't. That is what makes a marriage strong. We went out to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. We are such party animals. That was our night last night. It was good to get out, without kids, and with out having to fight off the one year old from our meal. Love you lots Gerald. And it is a privilege and delight to be married to you for sixteen years. Lets go for another sixteen. Yes, that is Gerald and I....LOL!!

Happy Birthday MOM!!!!

I was going to do this yesterday, but ran out of time. So here is my tribute to my mother. Her birthday is on November 19th. She has been with our heavenly father for seven years. Wow!! I just wanted to wish her a Happy Birthday. She was such a good mother to us. I can remember so many things that she did for us kids. She did alot of sacrificing for us. I can remember always going and talking with her and just plain having fun. She was always there for us and for other people. She loved helping and serving. Since I just got thru reading my friends blog about laughter is the best medicine, I will tell you this story. This will tell you what kind of personality and fun loving my mother was. We used to play this game, in our house, called sardines. It is like hide and seek, only backwards. Anyway, my sister's fiance,now husband, was coming to visit us. I think for the first time. Anyway, we decided that we would play sardines with him. Talk about an initiation into the family. He got it. So my mother spent all day cleaning the house. She even cleaned the top of the fridge. Then that night we all dressed in our dark clothes. Turned the lights off. Back up. Maybe I should tell you how to play the game. What you do is this: You make sure your house is completely dark,One person hides, the rest go into the bathroom for a count of 60. Then you come out into the dark house and look for that one person. When you find that one person you hide with them. Get the picture. It is alot of fun. So back to the story now. We played this game with him. My mother really got into this game. She had all black clothes on. And we all know how short my mom was. 4'11". It was her turn to hide. So guess where she hid. That is right on top of the fridge. We all looked for her and hid with her. So here is a fifty year old women hiding with her kids on the fridge and counters. Cause five kids do not fit on the fridge. And it is pitch black. We are all quiet, trying not to laugh, as we watch my brother-in-law is crawling around on the floor in some areas trying to find us. Quiet hilarious. We all had a big roll on the floor laughing session. So mom, Happy Birthday, and Love you and miss you.

Twilight Event.....

So Taylor and her friend Deanza, have been bugging me to take them to the midnight showing of Twilight this next Friday, for about a month. I finally told them Sunday that I would. I got online to get the tickets, and they were sold out. So a friend of mine said that she would go to the box office and see if she could get them there. Jeannie calls me up and said, you are very lucky, they had sold out for all showing,except the midnight, they had three tickets left. What luck.... So Friday night, while all you smart people are sleeping, I will be at the theatre with two teenage girls watching Twilight. It will be fun. The girls are so excited to go....And Jeannie, being the good friend that she is, will take my two boys for the night. Anna will be at a friends house..So we are set for the party on that night...WISH ME LUCK!!!

Praising our children.....

I got home today from taking Taylor and her friend Kenzie out to lunch. And there in our mailbox was a post card from Christopher's school teacher. It is basically telling him that she was impressed with his hard work and that she appreciated all the help that he gives in the class. I love teacher like this. We have such a hard time with him at home sometimes, that it is good to know that he is doing well in school. That will be such a big deal for him to see this postcard. And it should be. I know that he is a good kid, and it is always nice to know that your kids are behaving in school,or anywhere he goes. It doesn't go just for him..All my kids do wonderful in school. I don't know where they got it from. School was never my favorite, but it sure seems that it is my kids. Thank you for all those teachers out there that take the time to teach our kids, and also to take the time to write them a note to tell them that they are proud of our kids. Way to go Christopher...You are growing up to be such a good kid.

Fingerprinting.....

So Gerald's liscense is up for renewal in December, and because he is hazmat and commercial, we had to get him into the government computers to see if he is a terrorist. So it is a long process. He had to go take the driver's test. He did pass that. Then we get online and do the background check to make sure he is not a terrorist. Then you have to go to Soda Springs and do the fingerprinting. Then we wait, to find out if he has ties to the terrorist. This is all so that he can haul hazmat loads maybe twice a year. What a process. So I will let everyone know if he is a terrorist or not...I bettin not..LOL!

Relief Society!!

Yes, I ventured out to Relief Society tonight. Not one of my most favorite things to do, but I went tonight. Wasn't that bad,LOL!! I am just not a Relief Society doer, unless they have crafts to do. They had their Christmas dinner and gift one tonight. So we had a nice dinner and they made some gifts. I wasn't able to stay for all, just the dinner and how to make the White Chocolate Popcorn. Which is really the reason I went. So the White Chocolate Popcorn, is a very detail recipe, so make sure you write it down, so you don't forget anything. Basically, you pop 8 bags of microwave popcorn, melt white chocolate(ambrosia), mix it together until all the popcorn is well covered, then spread it out flat on your table and let it dry. That is it. I told you that it was a very detailed recipe. LOL. I have another one that my husband like to make. They are called Oreo Balls. We all love them. They are very good and very rich. We handed them out for gifts last year. Here is the recipe. 1 package of Oreos, 1 package of cream chease, and 1 package of almond bark chocolate. Take the whole package of Oreos and dump them into a food processor and grind them all up, then put in the cream cheese, and mix it all up. Then make balls out of the cookie mixture. Take the almond bark chocolate and melt it and cover the cookie balls with the chocolate, let dry. Very good. If you have any left over you can keep them in the Fridge. So there is a couple of recipes to start you holidays off with. If I come across some more I will post them. That is, if they are good. Let me know how they turned out.

Election Day Over.....

Well we are in for a bumpy four years. I wasn't going to vote this year, but decided that I had better to do my part for this country. I still think that my vote doesn't count anymore. But it is the right thing to do. I am glad that I voted, even though the outcome wasn't what I wanted.But that is life. If we all got what we wanted, then where would you be. So, buckle down the hatches, and go along for the ride. BE PREPARED!!!! Who knows where we will be in four years.

Food Coloring !!!!

So, Saturday night while I was at work, my one year old got ahold of the food coloring. Could you just picture what he would look like when he finally went and showed my husband what was on his feet. Not just one color, but all the colors. Unfortunely, my husband didn't get a picture, he was worried about getting the food coloring off. And of course this all happened after his bath. LOL!!Just such a little mischievious little guy.

Halloween Night!!!

Halloween Eve!!!

Well we did the traditional carving of the pumpkins on Thursday. We carved about 20 pmpkins. Not very many for us. We also went to a haunted house. That was pretty cool. They really scared Devin. We now know not to take him to those things. He was up all night long. This is a child that is always going around with a mask on and saying boo!!!They also got Taylor pretty good. We gave her a dollar to put into the collection box, and one of the guys came up behind her and picked her up and carried her screaming about 15ft. It was funny. Had a blast.We also really get into carving are pumpkins, as you can tell with the pictures.
