Bored Parents.......

This is what happens when parents have nothing better to do and have lots of time on their hands. They torture their kids with Silly String.
Gerald and I couldn't find a rake at Alco, so we decided to buy silly string instead. This what happens,we had nothing better to do,then to silly string our kids.
We told them that we needed to have that dreaded family meeting out on the porch swing. The kids didn't not want to have a family meeting. Then we just attacked them with the silly string.
We are such mean parents. They thought that it was pretty funny.

October is over!

Well the month of October is over. Wow what a full month. My kids all had their costumes picked out. We had gotten Devin a lion costume at Old Navy. Anna wanted to be a vampire, and Christopher wanted to be one of the Blues Brothers. So we were set. Then a couple of days before Halloween, my two year old kept telling me that he wanted to be a Blues Brother, also. I kept telling him that he was going to be a lion, that he could be a Blues Brother next year. Come Halloween day, about two hours before we went trick or treating, he was very adamant that he was going to be a Blues Brother. So he won. So if anyone needs a brand new lion costume that has probably only been worn for about a total of 1 hour. I have one.
Taylor went out to Bonida, which is probably about 15 minutes north of Preston. That is where she spent her Halloween night. Her and her friends went trunk a treating, then a spook alley, and then watched a scary movie. This is a tradition out in Bonida for all the kids. She said it was alot of fun.
Christopher, Devin, and I went out to my friend Jeannie's for their trunk a treating. Then we went back to her house and played games. That was pretty fun. We ate some mummy dogs and just hung out.
Anna was suppose to go out trick or treating with her friend Sassy. But she ended up going out with some other freinds, because Sassy didn't make it back from SLC in time. Her parents wanted to do their own trick or treating at the car dealership. I am glad that Anna has alot of friends for when things like that happen.
All in all I think that my kids had fun on Halloween. I am sorry but I forgot my camera in all the stress of finding another costume for the two year old.

Friday!

What a day yesterday was. It was definitely a Friday. Anna had her egg drop yesterday at school with her science class. The egg drop is a lot of fun for the kids to do. We put an egg in a watermelon. Just in the center of it. Then we duct taped the watermelon to make sure that it would somewhat stay together when it was dropped. Taylor did this experiment when she was in sixth grade. She said that the watermelon went all over the place. So we decided to put duct tape all around the watermelon this time. Duct tape is the cure all for everything. It fixes all things. So I have heard.
Then her teacher get up on the roof and drops all her students gadgets to see who's egg survived the drop. Anna's was the last drop. The egg survived the drop, the watermelon, was not so good. It is gone. It definitely went splat.
Then after Devin and I were done watching all the eggs drop, we went over to my work. While I was there the owner came over so that we could find a place for our printer that she got us. As we were doing that, Devin was wandering around and doing his normal there at work. When all of sudden the fire alarm went off. Now of course my first thought was which resident pulled the fire alarm. Because that is usually what happens. But no. My child decided to be a Dennis the Menace and pull on the fire alarm. It was quiet funny. And my boss, Karren, laughed too. It is a good thing that she has a great sense of humor. Cause I was quiet embarrassed that my son pulled the fire alarm. But I guess that is what boys do, they just have to play with buttons and pull things to see how they work.
That was my Friday......What a day!

Traditional BonFire !

Saturday we had our traditional bonfire. We hold these every year around this time in October. My kids really enjoy doing. We cook hot dogs and s'mores over an open fire. It is really alot of fun. It is a nice start to the fall holiday season. This year we invited my brothers and their families. I only had one of my brother show up. Hopefully next year the rest of them will come. We sure missed having my other brothers there. Then we also invited our next door neighbors. So we cooked our hot dogs, had our s'mores, and enjoyed each others company.

Steve, my brother and his wife,Dee, and Anna decided to brave the fire and stand and cook.

The fire was pretty hot, so Gerald and Christopher laid on the ground and cooked their hot dogs.
